A Contented People — Constitutional Trial by Jury Underpins an Egalitarian Society Where Justice, Liberty, Freedom of Speech and Democracy Flourish.
Greetings to Substack readers. The appalling U.K. legislative changes proposed in 2025 to dismember further an already much eroded Trial by Jury Justice System would install the authoritarian trial-by-judge, as opposed to twelve ordinary men and women judging on the justice of the law being enforced, as well as the facts of the case. Indeed, these proposed changes are the worst encroachments upon our liberties that ‘We the People’ have seen in our lifetime.
History proves that the genuine Constitutional Trial by Jury has always been the only (peaceful) solution to overweening (tyrannical) government. See the following:

Hence, in the name of justice, the true form of Constitutional Trial by Jury urgently requires legislative reinstatement and practical application both in the U.K. and the U.S. This restoration needs to be a central plank of any campaign to obtain justice, sine qua non.
